Our Grandfather Charles is the youngest son of Joseph and Jane(Hagart)VanIderstine. After our grandfather's birth his parent's passed and the three youngest boys; Charles, Peter and Lemuel were put into an orphanage. When their older sister Rebecca married George Cowan they brought the three boy's home and raised them as their own; changing their names to Cowan. I have been in touch with Gordon Furness and Pamela MacLean and have sincerely appreaciated their correspondance and welcome any correspondance from other relatives. I would love to know our family. Most of our cousins live in British Columbia. Seven of us live in Washington and Oregon USA, as our mother moved here when she married. If any one knows more about the adoption of our Grandfather and Uncles please let me know the information. THANK YOU!!Feb 11th, 2008
